All workshops will cover the same material and will assist students in getting started on their personal statement.

Overview: These virtual workshops will build on each other for students to have a deeper understanding on how to highlight their best experiences and craft a unique narrative for their personal statement. Concepts from these series can be applied to the University of California personal insight questions. These workshops are only offered to current juniors and attendance to all three workshops is mandatory in order to have first draft.
June 6th Session
Essay Basics:
This session will cover how admissions essays differ from academic essays and what colleges are looking for in an admissions essay
June 13th Session
Brainstorming:
This session will focus on bringing out your lived experiences in a way that highlights qualities that admissions look for
June 20th Session
Craft Your Essay
This session will have students begin writing their first draft based on what was covered in the first two workshops
